Hackazook Establishes Organization to Study "Relationships Between Companies and Alumni"
Hackazook, which supports building relationships between companies and alumni (former employees), announced on May 19 the establishment of the "Alumni Research Institute," an organization dedicated to studying the relationship between companies and alumni.
In conjunction with this, the company plans to hold its first Alumni Symposium in July.
Regarding the background for its establishment, the company stated: "With the vision of 'new relationships between companies and individuals,' we operate businesses specializing in alumni. We provide the alumni-focused cloud system 'Official-Alumni.com' and consulting services. Since our founding in 2017, we have supported many companies, primarily listed firms, in building relationships with their alumni. As a result, numerous new connections have emerged between companies and alumni, as well as among alumni themselves.
However, the concept of companies maintaining connections with alumni after their departure is still relatively new in Japan, and there is a lack of sufficient case studies and information.
To achieve this vision, we believe it is necessary to conduct broader case studies and research, and to disseminate the findings from such studies and research. Through collaboration with partners and companies sharing the same vision, we aim to increase the number of companies building relationships with alumni and realize our vision, leading to the establishment of the 'Alumni Research Institute'.
The Institute states: "As an organization researching 'the relationship between companies and alumni rooted in Japanese culture,' we will contribute to realizing our vision through the following activities."
・Research and studies on corporate-alumni relationships and retirement
・Planning, operating, and publishing findings from the above research and related study groups
・Developing various methodologies through the above
• Operating communities for companies implementing alumni-related initiatives

Director Akira Sakai commented, "The philosophy behind the alumni network I launched while working at a company was to create a 'flat space, regardless of age, department, or position.' Precisely because we are in an era of unprecedented major environmental change, I hope this institute can become a 'lens' through which diverse individuals can openly and flatly exchange opinions, envisioning the future of 'healthy' work styles, careers, and the relationship between companies and employees."
