The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries began nationwide broadcasts of its "#Genki Itadakimasu Project" TV commercials on August 24.
The ministry has already launched the "#Genki Itadakimasu Project" as a sales promotion measure for domestic agricultural, forestry, and fishery products affected by reduced sales due to the spread of the novel coronavirus. (Related article: https://dentsu-ho.com/articles/7437 )
This time, to convey the project's activities and purpose, TV commercials (15-second and 30-second versions) featuring actress Suzu Hirose were produced. In the ads, Hirose enjoys a meal with a smile while calling on viewers to "Support producers by eating domestic ingredients."
The commercial begins with Hirose lounging around in her bed at home.

As she reflects on her daily life, she realizes how much she is supported by various foods: "When I need energy, steak; when I want a treat, melon; when something good happens, sushi."
"Did you know? Producers are in trouble right now!!" she continues, conveying the project's message through dance: "We have to eat and support them."
In an interview, Hirose shared her thoughts on the commercial shoot: "It was a healthy and luxurious shoot—dancing and eating lots!" She conveyed the fun atmosphere on set and appealed, "Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, ingredients carefully cultivated by producers nationwide are now losing their destination. Let's all join me in eating lots of delicious ingredients and energize Japan!"
