To promote a circular economy on campus, Kinki University has partnered with CaroZet Inc. to introduce "Rentastic! for KINDAI UNIVERSITY" for the first time at a university.

Carrozet Inc., which plans and operates "Rentastic!", a web platform supporting the free rental/transfer of personal possessions (items) within specific communities, will begin operating "Rentastic! for KINDAI UNIVERSITY" in collaboration with Kindai University starting February 10th.

The introduction of "Rentastic! for KINDAI UNIVERSITY" will enable all students and faculty/staff at Kindai University to freely "lend or borrow" and "give or receive" personal items. The university and its community will work together to actively tackle "curbing excessive consumption" and "reducing waste," promoting this as a concrete action toward sustainability and the SDGs. Meanwhile, CaroZet aims to expand similar projects to universities nationwide, contributing to the realization of a sustainable and better society through these initiatives.

Kinki University is the first university to adopt the "Rentastic!" platform, which promotes the circular economy, including similar initiatives (according to CaroZet Co., Ltd.).

■ What is "Rentastic!"?

"Rentastic!" is a web platform designed for community-based operation (e.g., among university students and faculty, corporate employees, or apartment residents). Users within the same community who trust each other can enjoy "lending and borrowing" or "giving and receiving" items in a closed environment. This fosters community-level efforts to advance sustainability and SDGs by curbing excessive consumption and reducing waste. The core uniqueness of Rentastic! lies in its "non-monetary mutual aid scheme": users receive community coins called "Renta!" based on the number of days they lend their items to others. These "Renta!" coins can then be used to rent other users' items for free.
