Dentsu Inc.'s overseas headquarters, Dentsu Aegis Network, has agreed to acquire 100% of the shares in the German digital marketing agency explido (headquartered in Augsburg, Germany; hereinafter "explido") from its shareholders.
Founded in 2002, explido is an agency providing comprehensive marketing services in the digital domain. It is particularly strong and highly regarded by clients for its services in areas such as search-linked advertising, performance-based advertising, and conversion optimization—services that provide optimal methods to encourage actions like membership registration, brochure requests, and product purchases from advertising and website visitors.
Dentsu Group's digital services for clients in Germany have primarily been delivered through its global network brands Isobar and iProspect. This acquisition aims to establish a competitive advantage for iProspect in the digital marketing domain. Going forward, Expried will operate as an iProspect-branded agency, targeting further business expansion.
Carat, the Dentsu Group's media communications agency, reported in September 2013 that Germany's digital advertising expenditure grew 9.0% year-on-year in 2012. It forecasts continued growth exceeding the overall advertising market, with increases of 5.9% in 2013 and 5.5% in 2014.
