Looking toward 2020. And beyond. Where should Japan aim? What would be desirable? In this year, where the importance of diversity seems increasingly emphasized, I want to start by listening to diverse opinions.
Our featured guests are 15 individuals originally from overseas who now reside in Japan. From both an external and internal perspective on Japan, and through the professional lens of their respective fields, they have expressed insightful and diverse keywords through the art of calligraphy.

Adventure means taking risks. For example, mustering the courage to talk to a girl you like is an adventure (laughs). My catchphrase is always "Have fun!" no matter the risk. It's the same in business. While excelling at service like saying "Welcome!" is good, I want both customers and staff to enjoy themselves together, regardless of their roles. When tourists from overseas visit Japan, they often fall in love with the country and return home. I believe this is because Japanese people are properly educated from childhood to interact well with others and be cooperative. That's a great quality of Japanese people, and I hope it never changes.
