India-based ★ Facebook supports app developers

Facebook recently announced that it has provided approximately $21 million (about ¥2.6 billion) in support to Indian companies as part of its "Fb Start" initiative to support emerging app developers. This was reported by the local media outlet The Hindu Business Line (online edition).

According to Facebook, it provided business support worth up to $80,000 to companies already selling apps and $30,000 to those in the app development stage. Supported app developers include Hyderabad-based Samosa (Andhra Pradesh/Telangana) and Delhi-based Cardback.

Launched in April last year, the FB Start project currently operates in India, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan. It has supported over 1,000 companies, with total funding reaching $50 million.
