From October 29 to November 28, the Ad Museum Tokyo in Shiodome will host the exhibition "Pure Design: D&AD Awards 2015" (organized by the Hideo Yoshida Memorial Foundation and D&AD). This event showcases the latest winning works from the globally renowned design and advertising awards, the D&AD Awards, originating from London, UK. Admission is free.

Established in 1963 by the UK-based non-profit organization "D&AD," the "D&AD Awards" are considered the world's most challenging design and advertising awards to win due to their rigorous judging standards. The award's symbol, known as the "Yellow Pencil," is given to outstanding work in each category.
The highest honor, the "Black Pencil," has been awarded only to creative work that astonishes people, sparks debate, and pioneers a new era.
The venue will showcase approximately 50 pieces, including 5 Black Pencil winners, 4 White Pencil winners (awarded for ideas that improve the world), 44 Yellow Pencil winners, and Japanese award-winning works.
This year, many award-winning works aimed to solve problems through design to help people live better lives. Examples include France's Intermarché "Inglorious Fruits & Vegetables," which sought to reduce food waste by showing that irregularly shaped fruits and vegetables have the same taste and nutritional value.
