With "DMM Banushi," you too can become a racehorse owner!?

DMM.com Securities and DMM Dream Club will launch "DMM Banushi," a racehorse fund service starting from ¥10,000, on August 5.
This service allows users to become a "fractional owner" of their favorite horse, receiving distributions such as prize money and race appearance fees based on race results, just like a real owner.
At launch, nine horses will be featured, each offering approximately 10,000 shares.

A launch event was held on the 1st at DMM.com's headquarters in Minato Ward, Tokyo.
Takumi Nomoto, the DMM.com director overseeing the business, explained the motivation behind launching the service: seeing the enjoyment of an acquaintance who owns multiple racehorses inspired him to make this experience accessible to the general public. He revealed the name combines the name of the famous Moroccan marathon runner "Khalid Khannouchi" with the Japanese term for horse owner ("banushi").

Talent Haruna Kojima, who serves as the service's image character, and comedians Hiroaki Ogi and Ken Yahagi of the duo Ogiyahagi rushed to the stage. The trio appeared in the costumes worn for a video exclusively distributed online. Ogi complimented Kojima, saying, "Kojiharu looks great in that outfit, and her beard is cute too." Yagaki immediately chimed in, "Ogi has always liked women with beards," drawing laughter.
After screenings of both "Road Movie" and "Banumen Banujo,"
the trio shared memories of filming, discussing the horses' cuteness and the grandeur of Hokkaido's ranch. They added, "It turned out great, sowe hope they'll air the TV commercial too."

Director Nomoto explained the service's key features: online account opening, a lineup including top-tier horses, intuitive operation via a dedicated app, video streams showing the horses' growth, and live race videos to share the excitement.
When the initial lineup of nine horses was announced, the trio revealed their favorites: "Sugar Heart," "Venetian Doll," and "Loves Only Me." Guest speaker Yasutaka Ikeue, a renowned trainer, stated, "The horses in the Banushi stable have excellent pedigrees and are promising. I also resonated with this service's concept and agreed to train them."

The three characters commented: "Watching the horses grow feels like having a pet; you'll likely hope they finish safely rather than worry about their race position." "Becoming a real owner is difficult. This accessible system is appreciated." "I believe many dramas will unfold with Banushi. I hope women who haven't had connections to horse racing will enjoy it too." Director Nomoto concluded, "Banushi isn't about investment. We want people to share the joy of seeing their beloved horse race. I dream of a Banushi-owned horse crossing the finish line in the Japanese Derby someday."
