Verification Card is abbreviated as "Vericard." Translated into Japanese, it means "reception confirmation certificate."

I often listened to Radio Australia. It came in fairly clear, and I remember being struck by things like the call of the kingfisher and "Waltzing Matilda" (a cheerful Australian song).

Unlike today, overseas information was scarce, so hearing unfamiliar music and words felt incredibly fresh. We'd exchange information with friends and show each other our Verification Cards. Staying up until the wee hours due to the time difference is a nostalgic memory, but Verification Cards still exist today, even in Japan.

(Story from a man in his 50s, living in Kanagawa at the time)
