Dentsu Inc.'s creative think tank, DENTSU SOKEN INC. Team B, will co-host a talk session with business magazine Forbes JAPAN and Academy Hills Library on August 30th. The event, titled "MOODMAN × Tanakama Discuss: The Appeal of 'Analog' – Useful (?) from Small Talk to Business," will be held at the Academy Hills Roppongi Library in Tokyo.
The venue is the Academy Hills Roppongi Library in Tokyo. This time, 70 non-members will be invited on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are accepted via the Academy Hills website.
This talk session is an extra edition of the Forbes JAPAN series "DENTSU SOKEN INC. Team B's NEW CONCEPT Collection," marking the third installment following the previous two sessions.
"Analog" is a coined term combining "analog" and "relax." In the music world, analog records have expanded their market over the past decade. Similarly, in the gaming industry, while games utilizing various technologies like VR and AR are booming, analog players are steadily increasing.
Why analog now? We delve deep into the history and evolution of analog games, their current applications in education and business, and more.
Guest: Toshihide Kimura, Creative Director at DENTSU SOKEN INC. Team B. Also active as DJ MOODMAN, he owns 100,000 analog records at home and has recently become hooked on collecting analog games.
The other guest is Makoto Tanaka, known as "Tanaka-ma." He is the owner of the popular analog game shop "Ten Days Games" in Mitaka. He was an early advocate for introducing the appeal of German board games to Japan, has sold numerous Japanese editions of overseas games, and is the author of 'BOARD GAME GUIDE 500'.
Hidetoshi Kurashina, Creative Director of DENTSU SOKEN INC. Team B and a collector of analog products, will moderate. He, along with Forbes JAPAN Deputy Editor-in-Chief Masaharu Fujiyoshi and guests Mr. Kimura and Mr. Tanaka, will hold a talk session on the "Analog" phenomenon.
