Dentsu Live Presents Panorama Talk #05 "Kishin Shinoyama's 'Photographic Power!'" Event

Dentsu Live Inc. will host the talk event "Panorama Talk #5: Kishin Shinoyama's 'The Power of Photography!'" on July 28 at "common ginza" on the 3rd floor of the GINZA PLACE complex in Ginza, Tokyo.

Panorama Talk, held regularly at this venue since April 2017 under the theme "From Ginza to the World: Let's Create Together with Creators!", features and showcases "creators" from various fields.

The fifth installmentwill featurephotographer Kishin Shinoyama, who has long been at the forefront of the photography world, andShigeo Goto, an editor and creative director who has workedwithShinoyama on his photo books and with various other photographers.

Mr. Shinoyama is an artist who has consistently captured the "now" in all its depth—through his artistic vision, the clarity and boldness of his themes, and his rapid response to new technologies. On the day, Mr. Goto will serve as the interviewer as Mr. Shinoyama discusses his photographic career.A special slide show of works curated by Mr. Shinoyama will also be screened.

The talk event will be made available on the Dentsu Live Inc. website at a later date.

Born in Tokyo in 1940. Photographer. Showed promise while studying photography at Nihon University's College of Art, worked at the advertising agency "Light Publicity," and became freelance in 1968. He has captured iconic figures of their time, including Yukio Mishima, Momoe Yamaguchi, Rie Miyazawa, John Lennon, and Yoko Ono. Using innovative techniques like his signature "Gekisha" (literally "violent shots"), which became a buzzword, and "Shinorama" (combining multiple cameras to shoot simultaneously), he continues to document the era. Since 2002, he has developed "digi+KISHIN," combining still images and video shot with digital cameras. His website "shinoyama.net" also features numerous video works, still images, and DVD releases. The exhibition "KISHIN Shinoyama: The Power of Photography THE PEOPLE by KISHIN," which began at the Kumamoto City Museum of Contemporary Art in 2012, has toured nationwide, drawing over 900,000 visitors. Since 2016, he has energetically continued his activities, holding exhibitions such as "KISHIN Exhibition: House of Pleasure" at the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, "KISHIN meets ART" at the Hakone Open-Air Museum, and "LOVE DOLL×SHINOYAMA KISHIN" at Atsuko Baroo.

■Shigeo Goto
Born in Osaka in 1954. Editor, Creative Director, Professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design. His work spans advertising production, planning, product development, web development, and exhibition curation. Guided by his motto of "unique editing," he has produced numerous art books and photo collections for artists including Kishin Shinoyama, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Mika Ninagawa. Director of "G/P," a gallery specializing in photography and graphic design in Ebisu, Tokyo. Through G/P gallery, he has successfully promoted and sold works by young Japanese photo artists at international art fairs like Paris PHOTO (Paris) and Unseen Photo Fair (Amsterdam), while also producing major museum exhibitions for artists like Kishin Shinoyama and Mika Ninagawa. He also actively collaborates with companies, including Mitsukoshi Isetan, to pioneer new approaches to art and branding.
