Dentsu Inc. Launches "DENTSU JAM!", a Co-Creation Project Supporting New Business and Industry Creation
― Realizing "Transcending Boundaries" Open Innovation through Industry-Government-Academia & Inter-Corporate Collaboration "NtoN (Many-to-Many) Model" ―
Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Yamamoto) today launched "DENTSU JAM!" (※1) (URL: www.dentsujam.com ), a co-creation project supporting the emergence of new businesses and industries.
"DENTSU JAM!" collaborates with external partners including Plug and Play (※2), the world's largest innovation platform; Cross Tech Management Co., Ltd. (※3), which supports new technology development such as IoT products; and Future Sessions Inc. (※4), which provides innovation consulting services.
Historically, promoting open innovation centered on the "NtoN model" of inter-company collaboration in Japan has been challenging due to factors like confidentiality concerns and a lack of successful case studies/experiences, epitomized by the term "NIH (Not Invented Here) syndrome."
Recognizing this situation, DENTSU JAM! has decided to provide a platform where diverse industry, government, and academic institutions can gather. By leveraging its unique network and resources and collaborating with external partners, it will design the dialogue that takes place there, thereby supporting the emergence of solutions through the cutting-edge "NtoN model" in Japan.
To launch this initiative, we conducted a three-year pilot test. We have already achieved co-creation with diverse companies and organizations in areas aligned with our group's strategic domains, such as genomics (※6) and the agricultural data collaboration platform WAGRI (※7). We are also establishing and supporting the infrastructure to integrate various types of data.
Moving forward, DENTSU JAM! will continue developing thematic areas to foster new business development and the emergence of new industries through diverse companies and organizations participating in the "NtoN Model," driving transdisciplinary open innovation.
