[Author's Comment]
Currently, approximately 3 million foreigners reside in Japan. It is said that these individuals actually find simpler Japanese easier to understand than English. "Easy Japanese" is the concept that encourages Japanese speakers to communicate in easier-to-understand Japanese for such people. Based on lessons learned from the Great Hanshin Earthquake, this movement has developed through efforts like revising expressions in disaster prevention/mitigation and administrative documents.
