An 18-meter life-size Gundam moves! Mobile Suit Gundam 40th Anniversary Project "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA" Launches

Evolving G held a media preview ahead of the December 19 opening of the interactive facility "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA" at Yokohama's Yamashita Pier, in collaboration with the City of Yokohama. Part of the "Mobile Suit Gundam 40th Anniversary Project," this complex allows visitors to see the 18-meter-tall full-scale Gundam in motion and immerse themselves in the Gundam universe.

The Mobile Suit Gundam 40th Anniversary Project is an initiative launched by "GUNDAM GLOBAL CHALLENGE" (GGC), led by the original creator of the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam," Yoshiyuki Tomino, to bring a life-sized Gundam to life. Five leaders consolidated the vision, while three directors spearheaded the design and production.

At "GUNDAM-LAB," panels and videos introduce the development process of the "moving Gundam," along with its design, structure, and mechanisms, drawing visitors into the Gundam universe. The experience area is also well-equipped, featuring attractions like the VR dome "GUNDAM Pilot View SoftBank 5G EXPERIENCE," which offers an experience akin to sitting in the Gundam's cockpit.

At the "GUNDAM-DOCK" deck, where Gundam is stored and maintained, visitors can see the "moving Gundam" up close from the "GUNDAM-DOCK TOWER" (separate fee required).

Additionally, "THE GUNDAM BASE YOKOHAMA Satellite" sells a wide range of products, focusing on original Gunpla kits and including many limited editions. "GUNDAM Café YOKOHAMA Satellite" will offer original menu items, local gourmet foods, and venue-exclusive goods.
