Dentsu Inc.'s problem-solving marketing information site, Do! Solutions, is recruiting participants for its webinar "Economists, Does ESG Really Pay Off? The Relationship Between ESG and Stock Prices You Can't Afford to Ignore," scheduled for Tuesday, June 27.
According to Dentsu Inc.'s Sustainability Consulting Office, many companies are asking: "Beyond just ESG compliance, what should we do to achieve higher stock prices and exceed a PBR of 1?" and "We want to leverage our IR team's expertise while collaborating with other departments and external partners to realize business growth through a comprehensive ESG strategy."
This webinar is co-hosted by Economics Design Inc., founded primarily by economists, and Dentsu Inc.'s Sustainability Consulting Office. It will feature a 90-minute session on ESG and stock prices with economists Professor Yosuke Yasuda, Professor Takaaki Yasuda, and Professor Tatsuya Okimoto.

Takaaki Hoda
Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1974. Earned a Ph.D. in Commerce from Waseda University. Engaged in investment banking at Lehman Brothers Securities and UBS Securities before founding an SNS operating company. After selling that company, he served at a venture capital firm, the Financial Research Center of the Financial Services Agency, and as Professor at Kobe University Graduate School of Business Administration, assuming his current position in April 2022. From August 2019 to March 2021, he was a visiting researcher at Stanford University in Silicon Valley, researching corporate transformation through ESG. He also serves as an outside director and auditor for multiple listed companies.
Publications include: 'ESG Financial Strategy' (Diamond Inc., 2022), 'New Finance for Regional Management' (Chuo Keizai Sha, 2021), 'Corporate Finance: Strategy and Practice' (Diamond Inc., 2019), among others.

Yosuke Yasuda
Born in Tokyo in 1980. Graduated from the University of Tokyo in 2002. Received the Ouchi Hyoe Award for the best graduation thesis and served as the representative graduate of the Faculty of Economics. Studied at Princeton University, USA, earning a Ph.D. (Economics) in 2007. Served as Assistant Professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies and Associate Professor at Osaka University before assuming his current position in July 2022. Specializes in game theory and market design. Published numerous papers in international economics journals, including the American Economic Review. Also serves as a government committee member and television commentator.
Publications include: Designing School Choice Systems: A Game Theory Approach (edited, NTT Publishing, 2010); Auction Design: How Prices Are Set (supervised, Hayakawa Publishing, 2022).

Tatsuyoshi Okimoto
Received Ph.D. (Economics) from the University of California, San Diego in 2005. Held positions including Associate Professor at Yokohama National University Graduate School of International Social Sciences, Associate Professor at Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy, and Associate Professor at the Australian National University Crawford School of Public Policy before assuming current position in 2022. Also serves as Economics Design Principal. Specializes in quantitative finance and macroeconometrics, with over 30 papers published in international academic journals. Recipient of the GPIF Finance Awards, the Marujunko Research Encouragement Award from the Japan Finance Association, and the Securities Analyst Journal Award.
Publications include: "Quantitative Time Series Analysis of Economic and Financial Data" (Asakura Shoten, 2010).

Makoto Imai
Graduated from Kwansei Gakuin University, Faculty of Commerce, in 1998. After working at a financial institution, he engaged in real estate auctions at IDU (now Japan Asset Marketing), then worked at a real estate fund before becoming independent. In 2018, he became Representative Director of Diable and Director of Due D&Deal, working on implementing economics in real estate auctions while operating " Auction Lab, " an exchange space for business professionals and researchers to explore the business application of auction knowledge. In 2020, he co-founded Economics Design.

Soichi Ono
As a hybrid professional with 10 years in marketing strategy and 10 years in corporate communications, he plans and provides solutions—from business strategy and product development to commercials, promotions, web, retail, strategic PR, and events—with a planning-neutral approach. Recently, he has expanded beyond advertising, notably accompanying executive leadership and engaging in business development and facility development.
